After graduating from the Classical Lyceum in Leiden, Oda studied “German Language and Literature” in Munich and Amsterdam, and “Music Theory” (intensive study of solfeggio, harmony, counterpoint, musical analysis and musicology) at the Conservatory and University of Amsterdam. In 2009 she moved to Italy and studied Opera Singing at the Civica Scuola “C. Abbado” in Milan and at the Conservatory “G. Nicolini” in Piacenza (specialization in “Opera Buffa”). She obtained a Master of Arts with full marks and honors, under the guidance of Maestro Adelisa Tabiadon and Maestros Luca Gorla and Loris Peverada. Oda Zoe has deepened her stylistic knowledge with Bruno de Simone, Sara Mingardo, Ton Koopman, Carolyn Watkinson, Deda Cristina Colonna, Roberto Balconi, Evelyn Tubb, Michael Fields and others.
Oda has debuted in the following roles: Die Hexe in Hänsel und Gretel by E. Humperdinck, Orfeo in Orfeo by Ch. W. von Gluck, Rosina in The Barber of Seville by G. Rossini, Ariodante in the opera Ariodante by G.F. Händel, Vespetta in Pimpinone by T. Albinoni, Proserpina in Euridice by J. Peri; Sorceress and Spirit in Dido and Aeneas by H. Purcell. A live recording of Pimpinone, Casa Bongiovanni, was released on CD in 2011.
She also has extensive experience in the lieder-chamber repertoire from the 18th century to the contemporary and in the sacred repertoire; she has sung as a soloist, among others, the Petite Messe Solennelle by G. Rossini, the Stabat Mater by G.B. Pergolesi, the Messiah by G.F. Händel, the Easter Oratorio and the “Actus Tragicus” by J.S. Bach and the Requiem by W.A. Mozart. He frequently collaborates with the Choir of the Italian Swiss Radio directed by Maestro Diego Fasolis.
