The \u201cDeutsche Liebeslieder\u201d are a monumental work in which Lieder and piano solo pieces are alternated. Schlegel chose poetry of rich dramatic potential, written by the greatest German romantic poets, and tells the story of\u00a0\u00a0\u201cDer arme Peter\u201d: a theme that has inspired all art forms during the (late) romantic period.<\/p>\n<p>The audience can expect everything that is to be wished for in the German romantic art song: rich emotions, entrancing music of high quality and a style that can be considered both \u201cromantic\u201d and \u201coriginal\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>During the last years, Frans and I often performed selections or single Lieder from the cycle, in numerous occasione in the Netherlands and Italy ((Utrecht, Amsterdam, Milan, Piacenza a.o.).
